To help you make the most of your rental with DCR Carrental in SXM, we've compiled a list of some of the most common questions our renters need answered. Please review the questions below and click on the links to find the answer to the ones that interest you.
Drivers must be 23 yrs of age and hold a valid drivers license for a minimum of two years to rent. If a renter wishes to add an additional driver to the rental agreement, the second driver must be 25 or older, and present a credit card and valid driver's license both of which must in his or her name. Debit cards are not accepted as a form of credit ID at the time of rental.
The primary piece of identification required to rent at Discount Car Rentals is a valid driver's license. The second required credential is a major credit card. Debit cards are not accepted at time of rental. Debit cards may however be used as a form of payment at the time the car is returned NOTE: All forms of required identification MUST be in the same name.

Generally, at the time of rental, we'll require a credit card hold of 100 % of the total estimated rental charges. It's perfectly fine if you choose not to return the car on or before your scheduled return date, but we will place up to three additional holds on your card (depending on how long you keep the car) to cover expected rental charges. Upon your return of the car, all holds will be released, and the actual cost of the rental will be charged.
Discount Car Rental will accept cash at time return if you choose not to have the rental billed to your credit card.
Reservations can be cancelled with 24 hours notice of the pick up time with no charge whatsoever.
There is a 20 minute grace period before an additional hour is charged.
If the car isn't returned on or before the due date, Discount Car Rental will obtain additional card hold authorizations to cover expected rental charges.
Given the vast number of insurers and policies, it is extremely difficult for us to know which entitlements accompany your given policy. We strongly recommend that you contact your insurance company to verify your coverage's before renting a car. In the event you do not have proper protection, Discount Car Rental sells a protection coverage for your rental.
